Shot this while eating breakfast next to an active volcano in Costa Rica. That's the volcano in the background. Had the camera sitting next to me. Grab. Shoot. Voila.

Of course the next shot is going to be an erupting volcano. :) Stay tuned!

Rainbow Colored Grasshopper

I was really pushing my camera to get this shot. I has CA all over this shot. Anyhow this little guy is probably about 2 cm long. I would have never noticed it if our guide hadn't pointed him out. He's colored like that to ward off predators. He's a poisonous grasshopper.

It was raining when we walked through the rain forest. Dad didn't like the rain but it sure did make the colors come out.

I had a cheap Tamron 70-300 f3.5-5.6 with me since it was light and I didn't feel like lugging L glass around. It ended up making some pretty nifty bokeh so I'm glad I brought it along. My back is glad too :)
